oeconomenta: interplays between art and management

Idea of the book

More often than in previous times the disciplines of management and sciences observes art to find new orientation and inspiration. Art is used as source for reflection and questioning status quo and persistent patterns of action and creation. The idea of the book is in this tradition, though the starting point of the editors was not functional but rather the passion for business and contemporary art.

The book is transdisciplinary and a reader of different methodological positions regarding relations between art and business. The authors are well known scientists from the fields of (Postmodern) Marketing, Branding, Management, Organisational Science, System Theory, Sociology, Psychology, Art science, Economy, Philosophy, Strategy, Cultural Science. They stand in their disciplines for new, paradigmatic, critical thoughts and transdisciplinary
research.

The authors explain in their texts from their very personal point of view with fascinating insights and examples why and how they work on the interface / threshold of art and business. They even reveal in how far that questions the core ideas of the home disciplines.
As a consequence the book presents a multitude of reasonable, different positions and methods about the interface / threshold of art and business.

The authors are: Dirk Baecker, Michael Hutter, Birger P. Priddat, Karen van den Berg, Wolfgang Ullrich, Franz Liebl, Antonio Strati, Jonathan Schroeder, Fuat Firat, Pierre Guillet de Monthoux, Fritz B. Simon, Marc Markowski and Hergen Wöbken.
